Lehenga Choli is an Indian and Pakistani dress that is worn in large gathering by women of India and Pakistan. Lehenga Choli consist of Lehenga which is skirt type bottom portion of dress. Lehenga Choli has another part that goes with this dress is called Dupetta which is 5x7 piece of cloth with heavy embroidery or embellishment on it. Lehengas length can be up to below knee. To sew lehenga choli high skills are required as there are lots of embroidery and different kind of stitching work is required compare to other Pakistani/Indian dresses like Shalwar Kameez, Pishwas or Men Shalwar Kameez.

Heavy embroidery and or embellishments are done on Lehenga. This portion of Lehenga Choli is much more exposed. Work has to be very neat and heavy to make it look beautiful. Lehenga can be made of different fabrics and comes in many colors.

Choli
Upper portion of dress is called Choli or blouse. Some heavy work is usually done on the chest to match with the bottom portion.

Many designers these days make Lehenga Choli. Most of these designer Lehenga Choli are worn by film actresses or rich people who can afford to purchase these Lehenga Choli at high cost as these are designer made and are very expensive. Prices for designer Lehenga Choli can go as high as $100,000 depending on who makes it and who wears it. Dupetta part of dress is something that is worn on top of Choli that goes all the way on the bottom part of dress. Mostly heavy border embellishments are done on Dupetta that compliments Lehenga Choli.

There are different types of Lehenga Choli available these days that are worn on different occasions:

This Bridal Lehenga Choli is worn by the bride to be as a wedding gown. Although heavy work is required to be Lehenga Choli for brides are heavy in embellishment.
Bridal Lehenga Choli that is worn in weddings are referred by this term. These lehengas are also heavy in embellishment and come in different fabric and colors.
