Necklaces are ornaments worn around the neck. Necklaces have been a popular choice of body adornments since the ancient civilization. There are traces of events which indicate the presence of necklaces in the period as early as to when the Israelis evacuated Egypt. Another example which proves the early origin of the necklaces is the painting of Thebes, which intends that people of that era both men and women wore necklaces either for cultural or religious purposes.
The necklaces worn around the neck are usually formed from a metal chain and are attached to pendants or lockets. Necklaces can be made from a variety of metals like stainless steel, silver, white gold and yellow gold. The necklaces are also available in a number of sizes like Choker which is worn high on the neck is 35-40cm long, Princess Necklace which is little longer than the choker is 45-50cm long, Matinee Necklace is 55-60cm long, it sits at the top of the cleavage, Opera Necklace is70-90cm long, Rope necklace is slightly longer than the Opera Necklace, Dog Collar necklace consist of multiple strands of pearls, Bib Necklace is multiple strands of stepped pearls, Graduated necklace is the one which has larger pearls in the middle but the size gradually reduces as you move towards the clasp and lastly the Uniform Necklace has pearls which are all are of the same size mostly.
