Color Factor Of Precious Diamonds

Color

All About Color

A diamond's color really refers to its relative lack of color, at least in the traditional "white" diamond. The fewer colored tints a diamond has, the more light can pass through, which increases its sparkle and brilliance.

How color is measured:

Diamond color is graded a scale of "D" - colorless - to "Z", which is light yellow. Angara only carries high-quality stones with color grades of "I" or better, all of which are colorless or nearly colorless to the naked eye. While "D", "E," and "F" stones are the most colorless and therefore the most expensive, "G," "H," and "I" grades offer beautiful color at an excellent value.

Keep in mind:

Natural "fancy" colored diamonds,a including canary yellow, pink and brown, do not follow the D - Z scale. In fact, these rare and valuable stones are highly prized for their vibrant colors.
